The µPol™ ( pronounced micropol ) stereoscopy technology takes flickerless
3D stereoscopic presentations to new heights, without the use of expensive
and cumbersome goggles or head-mounted displays.
What is Micropol™?
The mPol™ is an optical device that changes polarization of light on a line
by line basis. The process of stereoscopic imaging and viewing requires two
views of the object (a left and right perspectives) for the viewer's left
and right eyes respectively. A spatially multiplexed image (SMI) combines
the left and right eye perspectives alternating line by line. The µPol
separates the left and right perspectives with polarizers rotated 90
degrees. The human brain processes the two images producing depth. The µPol
can be placed on LCDs including direct view displays, laptop, and projectors.
